HKPM Movies: Fall in Love with Masterpieces

From January to April 2024, join us for an unforgettable cinematic journey that celebrates the launch of the special exhibition "Botticelli to Van Gogh: Masterpieces from the National Gallery, London". In six carefully selected documentaries, you will discover the secrets of legendary artists such as Raphael, Van Gogh and Monet, as art historians unravel their creative processes, unique styles and little-known deeds. Get ready for an adventure to European art meccas such as Paris, Florence and Rome, exploring the enchanting halls of magnificent art museums and hidden treasures nested with private collections.

The programme also brings to you various post-screening sharing sessions by curators, scholars, musicians, and artists after designated screenings. Join us to learn more about different masterpieces as well as the evolution of western art history, music and literature. Get on board an authentic cultural journey!

The six documentaries include:

"Botticelli to Van Gogh: Masterpieces from the National Gallery, London" exhibition is organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the National Gallery, London. This exhibition is financially supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Age Limit

Suitable for age 6 or above; children under 12 must be accompanied any an adult.

* Van Gogh: Of Wheat Fields and Clouded Skies and Botticelli, Florence and the Medici are suitable for age 12 or above. Parental guidance is recommended.

The categories of films in the programme are not yet rated by the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration at the time this webpage launches. If any film classified as Cateogry III, notice will be posted on ticketing website www.cityline.com. Refunds will be made to ticket holders under 18 years of age who bought the tickets before the announcement.

Remarks
  • Please enter the Museum through the Palace Academy (LG/F). For any changes to the arrangement, please refer to the information in the Museum on the day of the event.
  • Admission to the venue will begin 15 minutes before the programme starts.
  • Free seating, on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the Auditorium.
  • The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the programme without prior notice.
