The Hong Kong Palace Museum donors Mr Andy Hei Kao-chiang and Mr Warren Cheng Wei-yang will share their multiple social roles as collectors and leaders in the art industry, and their experiences and interest in collecting. The main topics will include the fascinating stories behind the earthenware, lacquerware, and stone carvings they have generously gifted to the HKPM. The speakers and HKPM Associate Curator Dr Shengyu Wang will share their insights into Hong Kong's cultural and creative industries, as well as the cultural inheritance and innovation of collecting.
This talk accompanies the thematic exhibition “Passion for Collecting: Founding Donations to the Hong Kong Palace Museum” on view in Gallery 6 until 18 August 2025.
“The Hong Kong Palace Museum Collections and Collectors Talk Series” aims to shed new light on the art collecting and creative journeys of the HKPM donors, inviting audiences to appreciate the aesthetic, historical, and cultural significance of the many outstanding works donated to the HKPM.
