Published by the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the Palace Museum, and the Yuanmingyuan Administration Office of Haidian District of Beijing, YUAN MING YUAN: Art and Culture of an Imperial Garden-Palace presents the latest research and interpretation by scholars from around the world, expanding our understanding of Yuanming yuan from the perspectives of architectural design, residential garden life, artistic creation, and visual heritage.
Available in Traditional Chinese (published in March 2024) and English (published in July 2024), the book features and illustrates more than 60 objects with new discoveries and interpretations, many for the first time, including paintings, calligraphy, porcelain, and architectural models and elements.
Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the Palace Museum, and the Yuanmingyuan Administration Office of Haidian District of Beijing, and solely sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the special exhibition “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: YUAN MING YUAN—Art and Culture of an Imperial Garden-Palace” runs at Gallery 8 of the Hong Kong Palace Museum from 20 March 2024 to 12 August 2024.
