Woodblock Printmaking Workshop (Lunar New Year Special)

Celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year by adding a touch of traditional festivity to your home!

What you will get from this workshop:

    • Discover History: Gain an understanding of the Palace Museum treasures that symbolise good luck in traditional Chinese culture.
    • Explore Craftsmanship: Learn about the art of Chinese printmaking, including its historical background, characteristics, and techniques.
    • Get Creative: Participate in a hands-on session where you can create your own print using woodblock printmaking technique. Plus, you get to take home your creation and share blessings with family and friends!

 

Please note:

      • The workshop is open to participants of all skill levels. No prior experience is required.
      • Avoid wearing loose clothing since oil ink will be used in the workshop.

Age Limit

No prior experience is required, this programme is suitable for age 6 or above. Participants below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult. Each group shall not exceed two people, who will receive one set of materials.

Remarks
  • Please enter the Museum through the Palace Academy (LG/F). For any changes to the arrangement, please refer to the information in the Museum on the day of the event.
  • Please arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the workshop begins for registration and admission.
