Snowy landscapes are often depicted in the painting with the theme of four seasons. Whether it is a huge peak covered with snow or a corner of a snowy river, they reflect the characteristics of different regions. Hong Kong is located in the subtropical zone where snow is not common. People tend to have different imaginations of snowy landscapes. Snowy landscapes can be a poetic experience in their imagination.
With the theme of snow, participants will learn some basic techniques of snow scene, such as outlining, stroking, dyeing and coloring through the miniatures of the Song Dynasty. Participants will complete their snow scenery on a round fan to add a touch of poetry of snow to the winter solstice.
