This talk is part of the Art in Ink Festival, a two-week-long celebration of Chinese ink art, jointly presented by UOB Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. The talk, moderated by Grace Cheng, guest curator of the museum opening exhibition “No Boundaries: Reinterpreting Palace Museum Culture”, will feature three participating artists, Hung Keung, Ng Tsz Kwan, and Chris Cheung (h0nh1m), who will discuss their ink art and traditional art-related works.
The exhibition “No Boundaries: Reinterpreting Palace Museum Culture” features multimedia installations created by local artists to reinterpret traditional culture through a contemporary lens. In this talk, Grace Cheng will talk about the curatorial approach and the concept behind the exhibition. The artists will also discuss how they drew inspirations from the Palace Museum collection and reinterpreted its culture with multimedia and other technologies, fostering a dialogue between the present and the past that allows the public to rediscover the Forbidden City and traditional culture.
