What happens when ancient gold meets modern technology? In collaboration with Hong Kong Design Institute, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will take you up close to the features of a remarkable gold artefact through a 3D-printed replica. You will learn about our “Radiance” collections and the 3D-printing process that was used to create the replica. Unleash your creativity and take home a unique souvenir!

This workshop includes:

Introduction to the highlighted objects of the special exhibition “Radiance: Ancient Gold from the Hong Kong Palace Museum Collection and the Mengdiexuan Collection”
Learning about the applications of 3D scanning and printing technology in museums and daily life
Demonstration of 3D scanning and printing
Creative hands-on session to decorate your own 3D-printed winged horse with paint

No prior experience is required. Do not miss out!

Suitable for families with children ages 5–12, this workshop requires each child to be accompanied by an adult. No additional ticket is needed for the accompanying adult. Each pair of participants (one child and one adult) will receive one set of materials and have access to all galleries of the museum.
