Party at the Palace (Family Workshop and Themed Tour)

03 & 04.08.2024
Magnus Hall, Palace Academy

This workshop will take the participants on a journey back to the 18th to 20th centuries to experience the glitter and glamour of France. Dressed in their favourite costume, participants will join a tour with the party host in disguise, exploring the intriguing stories behind the exquisite fashion of the era, including the clothing etiquette, dress codes, and hidden messages conveyed through the use of fans.

Participants can also unleash their creativity to add a personal touch to the guided tour by customising a one-of-a-kind headpiece with feathers, stones, and jewels.

This workshop includes:

  • A guided tour of “The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910 from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris” special exhibition exhibition (including same-day admission to exhibition for one adult and one child).
  • A hands-on session to create a unique French style hat.
  • Children participants are welcome to dress up in historical costumes (or any kind of dress or suit) to attend the activity.
