Hong Kong Palace Museum

Qing emperors were enthusiastic collectors of artefacts and loved to store them in beautiful boxes called the “curio boxes”. This workshop offers participants the opportunity to create a new piece of artwork to add to their very own curio boxes. Participants will also get to learn about the museum’s diverse collections in the “Passion for Collecting: Founding Donation to the Hong Kong Palace Museum” exhibition through interactive games. A guided interactive session in the exhibition gallery.
An introduction to stories of collectors and collecting.
Participants’ sharing about the beloved small objects they brought from home and their own collecting stories.

A hands-on session to create a piece of artwork and assemble a curio box. Please note:

Requiring no prior experience, this programme is suitable for children aged 5–12. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. No additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult. Each child will receive one set of materials and take away a piece of artwork.
Each child shall bring a small item no larger than 7 x 7 x 7 cm, such as a toy car, a doll, a shell, or a stone.
