InkFinity Encounter Interactive Ink Experience Zone

16–31.12.2023
Magnus Hall

Inkfinity Encounter Interactive Ink Experience Zone is an immersive ink art space fusing art with technology. The zone presents three sets of interactive installations, including the new media interactive art installation The Book of Drops by Chris Cheung (h0mh1m), The Sea of the (Un)titled, an interactive digital installation inspired by the winning artworks of the 2023 UOB Art in Ink Awards, as well as the limited edition of the Art in Ink leisure wearables by local fashion designer Hidy Ng with a virtual fitting room using AR technology.

Known for his innovative new media art installation, Cheung completes his trilogy in The Book series by presenting The Book of Drops at Art in Ink Festival. The Book of Drops is a mesmerising anthology of cherished moments. It is comprised of a fading trail of ink-like water droplets. The content is freely created by the audience and then transcribed into Morse code format for enchanting performances.

Inspired by the winning artworks of the 2023 UOB Art in Ink Awards, The Sea of the (Un)titles, explored the meaning and relevance of the artwork titles and contemporary ink paintings, and how the ‘words’ create imagination and interpretation to the new meanings of ink art.

The third part of the installation features leisure wearables inspired by Chinese ink, along with AR-enabled virtual fitting room which brings a brand-new experience of wearable art.

Inkfinity Encounter Interactive Ink Experience Zone enables visitors to experience Chinese ink art from various perspectives and understand the connection between Chinese ink and our daily lives through art tech.
