Porcelain is an illustrious form of craft in China. While deeply rooted in Chinese traditions, porcelain production has been influenced by techniques and cultures of different regions and ethnic groups in the course of its development. Chinese porcelain has therefore become highly diverse in style and form.
Highlighting the exquisite porcelain treasures on display at the Hong Kong Palace Museum’s opening exhibitions, this talk will decipher the diverse cultural elements that have shaped Chinese porcelain production, revealing the fascinating history of the interactions between ancient China and the world.
