Joyce Cheung

Joyce is a jazz pianist, arranger, and composer based in Hong Kong. She obtained her Master’s degree in Contemporary Performance at Berklee College of Music in 2017. Since then, she has maintained an active presence in Hong Kong’s jazz and pop music scene. She is the Artistic Director of Music Lab as well as the co-founder of Ginger Muse, a recording label under which her albums Set Loose (2020) and Jazzical Collection (2022) were released. Aside from performing, Joyce also teaches the jazz programme at the Education University of Hong Kong.

Bernard Chan

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Bernard obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Letty Poon, and recently a Master of Arts degree with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Professor David Strange. Bernard is active in both orchestral and chamber music. He is now a guest tutti cellist of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. In 2014, he toured with the Asian Youth Orchestra. Bernard is the recipient of multiple scholarships, including the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Award and the Breguet Trey Lee Performing Arts Scholarship for two consecutive years. Bernard played in masterclasses of renowned artists such as Gary Hoffman and Colin Carr. In 2021, Bernard held his first solo concert—"About Time”. The project is co-presented with Music Lab and funded by the Hong Kong Artists Development Council.
