30 April: HKPhil Dim Sum Series: Women Composers of Note
To showcase the influence of femininity within classical music, fellows from The Orchestra Academy Hong Kong* will present three rarely performed pieces by three remarkable female composers—the French composer Germaine Tailleferre, British-American composer Rebecca Clarke, and German composer Fanny Mendelssohn. They will also perform the works by Benjamin Britten, Arthur Pryor, and Giuseppe Verdi that propel captivating female characters to the fore.
Join us for a memorable afternoon as we celebrate female empowerment through music!
*The Orchestra Academy Hong Kong is a joint programme co-directed by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) and the School of Music of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).
