10:30 am–1:00 pm | 3:30 pm–6:00 pm
Magnus Hall, Palace Academy

The “Dish with a Lotus Bouquet” from the Yongle period of the Ming dynasty (1403–1424) is adorned with a graceful lotus arrangement inside and a vibrant floral motif outside, framed by the soft undulations of sea waves and grass. Taking inspiration from this treasure, this workshop offers a hands-on experience to glaze your own blue-and-white ceramic dish.

This workshop includes:

  • An introduction to ceramics and the techniques involved.
  • A demonstration of how ceramics are glazed.
  • A hands-on session to paint your own ceramic work.

Please note:

  • The workshop is open to participants of all skill levels. No prior experience is required.
  • Your ceramics will be fired and delivered to your address three weeks after the workshop. Further details will be announced during the workshop.
  • Exhibition ticket arrangement: This registration is for the captioned programme only. To visit our exhibitions, please click here.

* The “Dish with a Lotus Bouquet” is now on display in Gallery 3, “Brilliance: Ming Dynasty Ceramic Treasures from the Palace Museum, 1368–1644”.
