Step into the role of the craftsmen and join us in celebrating the New Year atmosphere in the palace!

Lunar New Year is a traditional festival cherished by many. Join us for a spectacular celebration of the Lunar New Year Festival at the museum, where you will step into the shoes of esteemed craftsmen of the Workshops Office of the Imperial Household Department!

    • Explore the Treasures: Discover the exquisite craftsmanship from the Workshops Office of the Imperial Household Department that graces the palace and learn about its rich history.

    • Experience the Museum: Enjoy an unforgettable evening as you immerse yourself in the charm of palace life during the Lunar New Year Festival.

    Please note:

    • This programme is conducted in Cantonese.
    • This programme is suitable for children aged 6–10. Each participant must be accompanied by at least ONE adult. No separate registration is required for the accompanying adult.
    • Light refreshments, dinner and breakfast will be provided. Participants are requested to bring their own bottle and tableware. Please note that food and drink are not allowed inside galleries.
    • No shower facilities are provided at the Museum. Participants should bring any necessary personal items.
    • Essential items to bring include: portable power supply, sleeping pads, sleeping bags, warm clothing (the temperature of the gallery is maintained between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius due to the need for artefact conservation), personal medication, toothbrush and sleeping aids such as earplugs and eye masks. Please note that tents larger than 210 x 210 cm and tent pegs are not permitted inside the Museum.
    • During the event, participants must stay within the Museum premises, adhere to designated areas and follow the scheduled programme.
    • Please arrive at the venue 5 minutes prior to the event start time for registration and admission.
    • Exhibition Ticketing Arrangement: This registration includes admission to all galleries on Wednesday 5 February 2025 based on the number of registered participants.

    Remarks
    • Please enter the Museum through the Palace Academy (LG/F). For any changes to the arrangement, please refer to the information in the Museum on the day of the event.
    • Please arrive at the venue 5 minutes before the workshop begins for registration and admission.
    • Exhibition Ticket Arrangement: This registration includes admission to all galleries (except those temporarily closed) on Wednesday 5 February 2025 based on the number of registered participants.

    • If hoisted within three hours before the event starts, the event will continue.
    • If hoisted during the event, the event will continue. If it cannot continue as planned, rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.

    Black Rainstorm Warning Signal / Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above

    • If hoisted three hours before the event starts, the event will be suspended. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
    • If hoisted during the event, the event will NOT continue. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.

    The Hong Kong Palace Museum reserves the right to reschedule or cancel events with or without refunding participants.
