“HKPM Showtime Carnival” | Han Dynasty Platter Dance Workshop

Immerse yourself in the essence of Han dynasty art through authentic costumes, traditional props, and elegant dance movements.

This workshop will be hosted by a dancer from Hong Kong Dance Company. You will indulge in the distinctive allure of the platter dance while savouring the timeless beauty of Chinese traditional dance!

In this workshop, you will:

  • learn about the characteristics and history of Han dynasty costumes;
  • perform basic dance movements based on intricate footwork on upturned platters; and
  • collaborate on a short performance under the guidance of dancer.

Please note:

  • Requiring no prior dancing experience, this activity is suitable for participants aged 6 or above. Participants below the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult.
  • Participants are encouraged to wear casual attire.

  • Please enter the Museum through the Palace Academy (LG/F). For any changes to the arrangement, please refer to the information in the Museum on the day of the event.
  • Please arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the workshop begins for admission.
  • The Hong Kong Palace Museum reserves the right to release any unconfirmed places to walk-in participants 5 minutes before the workshop begins. A limited number of walk-in slots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The organiser reserved the right to make changes to the programme without prior notice.
