The workshop features traditional architecture and notable objects from the Hong Kong Palace Museum, such as the “Gold” tile and Floor tile with Buddhist Swastika and Eight Buddhist Emblems. It will guide students in exploring the functionality and beauty of traditional construction materials, providing a comprehensive understanding of porcelain tiles and the architectural elements of the Forbidden City from various intriguing perspectives, including materials, craftsmanship, and pattern styles. Students will also paint and create their one-of-a-kind porcelain tile to get closer to the thinking and techniques of artisans from the past.
