“Bejewelled! French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910” Workshop by L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts

In this workshop offered by collaboration with L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, you can immerse yourself in the dazzling and exquisite world of French jewellery arts from the late 18th to early 20th centuries.

 

This workshop includes:

  • An introduction to the highlighted objects of the special exhibition “The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910 from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris” by art historians,
  • An overview of the history of men’s and women’s jewellery from the late 18th to the early 20th centuries in France and the intriguing relationship between fashion and jewellery,
  • An up-close and personal antique jewellery appreciation session, and
  • Hands-on activities and conversation with jewellery experts.

 

Please note:

    • Participants are welcome to attend the activity wearing their favourite jewellery pieces.
    • The workshop is open to participants of all skill levels. No prior experience is required.

About L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts

L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, was established in 2012 in Place Vendôme, Paris, with the support of High Jewelry Maison Van Cleef & Arpels. This initiation school is open to everyone, with no special prerequisites, and it aims to introduce the public to all aspects of jewelry culture. L’ÉCOLE targets complete beginners as well as enlightened amateurs, collectors and those with a curiosity for the world of jewelry.
