After almost two years of opening, the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) will close the following galleries by phase for maintenance, refurbishment and preparation of exhibitions. Gallery 3 will feature a brand-new thematic exhibition upon its reopening.
Gallery | Period of Closure |
Gallery 1 | 21 May–30 June |
Gallery 3 | 21 May–9 July |
Gallery 2 | 1 July–13 August |
Gallery 5 | 1 July – 4th Quarter of 2024 (To be confirmed) |
For Special Exhibitions, Gallery 9 is currently closed for preparation of its upcoming new exhibition which will open on 26 June.
During the closure of the above galleries, visitors can still appreciate an array of exquisite exhibits on display in all other galleries, including treasures from the Palace Museum, the HKPM’s own collections as well as the multimedia artworks created by local artists to recreate the traditional royal gardens. All other facilities including the viewing decks, restaurants, learning facilities, and the museum shop will remain open. We thank visitors for their understanding and patience.
